Regulation (EC) No 300/2008 & Implementing Regulation (EU) 2015/1998
The core EU framework establishes common aviation-security standards, while Regulation 2015/1998 provides the detailed implementing measures, including cargo and mail security and EU aviation-security validation requirements.

The February 2026 amendment updates detailed AVSEC measures in areas including access control, vehicle examination, aircraft security, air-carrier security programmes, supplies and explosive-detection dogs. Certain provisions apply from 1 October 2026.
